You know the origin of basketball?
The origins of the game of basketball back due to a gentleman by the name of Dr. James Naismith. In 1861, Naismith was born in Almonte, Ontario, Canada. During his early school years Naismith was a game called duck on a rock, where the child would have groped to beat the duck walk from the top of a rock with another rock.
Later on, Naismith would go to McGill University in Montreal and was subsequently McGillUniversity's Athletic Director. He would then go to the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, and in 1891, started the game of basketball.
As the cold winter of Massachusetts, Naismith needed a leisure activity that could be played at home and chose a sport of skill and development to find one that is not relying solely on force. The first game was with two peach baskets for goals and played a football.
Also to his credit, Naismithbecame a doctor specializing in sports physiology and a Presbyterian minister. Naismith was able to see his beloved sport of basketball, gain acceptance in many countries through the YMCA since 1893. How good was the sport of basketball to the next Olympics in Berlin, led in 1936. As we speak, the game of basketball in a very popular sport business.
